WINNER: Your top takeaway shop revealed

IT’S not an easy time to own a local business, but Rohan Stephenson and the team at Racecourse Star Cafe are still fighting the good fight, and have come out on top as Dalby’s “best takeaway”.

Known for their outstanding customer service and their famous bacon, egg and cheese toasties, the Racecourse Star Cafe have made their mark with products unique to them, and a passion for local business.

Mr Stephenson has been involved with business his whole life, since his family purchased the cafe 31 years ago, and has since taken on a role as manager of the business.

For the family and their staff, their success comes down to excellent service and top quality products.

“For our whole saga of being at the business and creating the business, our emphasis has always been on high quality food, from our homemade rissoles and homemade dagwood dogs,” Mr Stephenson said.

The business is constantly upgrading products to entice new customers and keep current customers, and has done so to great success.

“We’ve got such an extensive array of food options and that’s always been our emphasis,” he said.

“That’s where we’ve poured time and energy into.

“We’re backed by a phenomenal team here who turn that dream into reality.”

To have come out on top as the “best takeaway” in Dalby was a surprise, but Mr Stephenson said it was a testament to the work of his staff and his family over 30 years of operation.

“It’s shocking to get so much support,” he said.

“It reflects how much support and effort our team put in to be able to get a result like that.”
