Winter temperatures on their way for Rockhampton
AFTER sweating through above-average temperatures in autumn, it's time to get out the jumpers.
Cooler weather is expected to hit Rockhampton today, with minimum temperatures starting to hit the single digits.
The weather bureau's Brendan Bradford expects average winter days to sit around 23 degrees, while nights could get as low as eight degrees.
Residents near Biloela and further west could expect to see frost in the early morning with the temperature hitting three degrees.
The cooler weather will be a welcome relief, after the average maximum temperature in autumn was about 27 degrees.
"In winter we'll still have above-average days and nights, overall we'll see it warmer than normal in June, July and August," Mr Bradford said.
