Woman, 48, charged after Bruce Hwy crash

DRUG and alcohol tests have been requested for a 48-year-old woman who crashed after her erratic driving drew the attention of Bruce Hwy motorists.

Emergency services were called to a vehicle in a ditch on the Bruce Hwy at Forest Glen shortly before 8pm yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said there had been "a lot" of 000 calls made about the woman's manner of driving as she headed north along the Bruce Hwy.

She said one motorist took it upon themselves to follow the vehicle with their hazard lights on in an attempt to warn other motorists of the erratic driving.

A motorist reported seeing the vehicle cross onto the southbound side of the highway before it crashed.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The woman, from Loganlea, was taken to Nambour General Hospital where a request for blood was made so it could be analysed for alcohol or drugs.

She was charged with unlicensed driving and given a notice to appear in Nambour Magistrates Court on February 22.
