That ain't a zucchini... This is a zucchini!
AN AMATEUR gardener in Toowoomba was shocked to discover she had grown a giant zucchini.
In her first attempt at growing the vegetable, Mrs Jill Lampard grew a zucchini 410mm long with a circumference measuring 390mm.
The courgette weighs a whopping 2.5kg.
Mrs Lampard put the monstrous size of the vegetable down to the fertile Toowoomba soil and cow manure mixed by her husband Peter.
She said tender loving care and nice Toowoomba weather also helped deliver the zucchini.
"I went to look for some zucchinis to make something for tea... and I cut the leaves away and found a nice big one," she said.
"It was a big surprise."
Mrs Lampard plans to make quiches and patties with the giant vegetable.
She admitted she was not a "real gardener" and simply planted the vegetable and hoped for the best.
The record holding zucchini measures 2.52m and was achieved by Giovanni Batista Scozzafava in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, as measured on August 28, 2014.
Mr Scozzafava stated that he used no fertiliser or manure and only gave the plant plenty of water.
