Woman knew victim for ‘less than a week’

Jackline Musa, the woman accused of deliberately mowing down and killing a man in Sydney's inner west, allegedly knew the victim for less than a week.

Payman "Paul" Thagipur, 31, died after he was struck by a Toyota Kluger allegedly driven by Ms Musa. The vehicle pinned him against a brick wall at his apartment.

Mr Thagipur's friend of nine years Samuel Azizi told The Sydney Morning Herald he had "never seen her when I was with Payman".

"He told me he knew that girl for seven days, maybe less days. He wasn't interested and she wasn't his ex-girlfriend," he said.

"For four days, five days, it's not really a girlfriend."

Emergency services were called to the car park of a unit complex on Hill Rd, Wentworth Point, about 8.30pm on Saturday.

Video footage shows first responders trying to save Mr Thagipur but he died shortly afterwards.

Ms Musa was arrested and taken to Concord Hospital to receive treatment for a fractured wrist before being transported to Auburn police station where she was charged with murder.

Authorities initially believed a love triangle was behind the incident.

It is understood Ms Musa arrived at the apartment complex and found Mr Thagipur with another woman before storming out.

Police will allege Mr Thagipur and Ms Musa argued before the Quakers Hill woman got in the Toyota and deliberately struck him, causing fatal injuries.

Acting Superintendent Peter Glynn said the "very traumatic incident" was captured on CCTV, while there were also several witnesses who rushed to Mr Thagipur's aid.

Mr Azizi described the victim as a "gentleman" who "cared about his family all the time".

He told the publication he had plans to go shopping with Mr Thagipur on the day of his death.

"We planned to go and buy groceries and to go to the supplement shop because on Monday we were going to start at the gym," Mr Azizi said.

However, Mr Thagipur failed to respond to phone calls, prompting Mr Azizi to travel to the apartment complex in Wentworth Point where he learned of his friend's death.

On Monday, shocked neighbour Naaz Ali told Nine News she was not expecting to witness such a horrific incident.

"The next thing I see is this girl calming walking by the body … and the man's body was just so badly mangled (with) blood. I think I lost my mind after that," she said.

Ms Musa is expected to front court again on Thursday.
