A 21-YEAR-old woman accused of stealing three motor vehicles and the arson of a Holden Commodore remains in custody after police opposed bail when she appeared before Gladstone Magistrates Court.

Police allege Courtney Elizabeth Hawking had been in a stolen Toyota Landcruiser ute that was left marooned on rail tracks in Gladstone on Sunday after a series of incidents involving her and a male co-offender.

She is also charged with obstructing police.

Police prosecutor Sgt Barry Stevens alleged Hawking went to a West Gladstone house on May 17 and stole a Commodore and was a passenger while it was being driven around city streets.

He said officers unsuccessfully tried to stop the car but it was later left outside a house in O'Connell.

Hawking then got into a Mitsubishi Pajero left parked with its keys in the ignition.

Sgt Stevens alleged her co-offender set fire to the Commodore before the pair drove off.

In Beecher they stole a Toyota Landcruiser and locked its doors when the owner tried to get in, damaging another vehicle as they drove away, the court was told.

Moments later the pair returned to the house because they left personal items in the Pajero, but when the home owner shut the gate on them the driver rammed it.

Sgt Stevens said Hawking and the man fled from the stolen Landcruiser at the rail tracks near Sun Valley.

Hawking was arrested at a home hiding behind a bed.

Duty lawyer Jun Pepito said Hawking was agreeable to bail reporting conditions.

Magistrate Mark Morrow refused bail, finding Hawking to be an unacceptable risk.

The case was adjourned to July.

Her co-accused will appear in court on Tuesday.
