AUSTRALIA'S heavyweight contender for world's largest cat has another massive hurdle to overcome after the world champ landed a potential knockout blow.
Omar, the 14kg maine coon from Croydon, put his paw into the ring when a picture from his Instagram account caught the attention of Guinness World Records.
But the current record holder - a British cat by the name of Ludo - will take some beating with its owners claiming their feline has grown by 120cm since being measured in 2015.
And they have video evidence to back up their claim.
In the footage, one of Ludo's owners struggles to pick up the humongous cat as his size and weight puts an evident strain on the man.
"We haven't measured him ourselves but he is definitely bigger than when Guinness World Records measured him as he was still at an age of growing when they did their measurements," Kelsey Gill, Ludo's owner, told Storyful in a Facebook message. "Sure would be nice to know what he is now."
And as for that pesky tabby from Australia?
"[Omar] looks big but it is very hard to tell as pictures are usually taken to make the cat look its biggest," Gill said.
