Young cattle champions at the Dalby Show

DAY one of the Dalby Show was a great success for Cecil Plains woman Bec Skene.

Her bull and heifer dominated the Junior Futurity Show competition for cattle 21 months and younger.

Ms Skene's two entrants took out the title of champion for both the bull and heifer category.

Grand champion was awarded to the heifer in what was a successful day for the regular show competitor.

She said the victories gave her confidence going into larger competitions in the coming months.

"We have been preparing these two for over a year now,” she said.

"This was our warm-up for Beef Rockhampton, and hopefully today is a good indicator that we are on the right track.”

Competition on day two of the Dalby Show will be dominated by the senior categories.
