Children are naturally creative, but as they get older and more focused on schoolwork and exams, they have less opportunity to get messy, get inventive, or express themselves through art. Our two-hour School's Out Art Mash-Ups will give them the perfect break from homework and allow them to have fun by experimenting with pottery and letting their imaginations run wild. There is something to suit every inquisitive and creative mind. In celebration of International Hat Day, participants will create a fabulous altered hat using collage and assemblage techniques. They will use collaging techniques and a range of materials to decorate a top hat and turn it into a work of art that they can wear! To create their altered hat, participants will be able to choose items from a range of stations with different themes. These will include: nature, technology, plastic trinkets, and books/magazines. So whether it’s animals, sports, adventure, art or technology that your child is passionate about, there is something for everyone. There will be a variety of themes to choose from or they can mix and match and create something different. Participants are also welcome to bring their own trinkets and findings to decorate their hats with.
